New Delhi: Organ donation is a medical boon, which is not unheard of. After the first successful organ donation, which took place in 1954, the procedure became a ground breaking phenomena in medical science.

The first organ donation was done through a living donor. However, soon after, medical science made another splash with cadaver organ donation which, simply put, means an organ transplanted after its owner’s death.

After its success, cadaveric organ donation has been actively campaigned for to raise awareness with the simple message that you can save a life even in death.

Contrary to what many people think and feel, organ donation – whether live or cadaveric – is actually a blessing in disguise and makes a huge difference not just for one person, but for everyone connected to them.

That difference can be felt through the following video, wherein a mother hears her late son's heartbeat three years after his death, through the person he donated his heart to.

Lisa Swanson's son died in a car crash in 2012 and had listed himself as an organ donor. After his death, a man by the name of Terry Hooper received his heart when he became a victim of heart muscle disease. Hooper's name was on the transplant waiting list ever since and Levi (the donor) helped save his life.

Three years later, Levi's mother and his twin brother meet Terry, the recipient of his heart and what follows is an extremely emotional moment.
