Gallbladder cancer: Know its signs and symptoms!

New Delhi: Gallbladder cancer is a rare cancer that develops in the gallbladder, a small organ below the liver.

The disease is thought to be related to gallstones building up which can lead to calcification of the gallbladder, a condition known as porcelain gallbladder.

As per studies, people with porcelain gallbladder have higher risk of developing gallbladder cancer.

Gallbladder cancer usually does not show any signs or symptoms until later in the course of the disease.

And the disease can be cured by removing the gallbladder, part of the liver and associated lymph nodes.

It is said that cancer when found out at an earlier stage, treatment might be more effective.

Here are a few common symptoms of gallbladder cancer:

• Abdominal pain
• Indigestion dyspepsia (gas)
• Lumps in the belly
• Weakness
• Loss of appetite
• Weight loss
• Jaundice
• Nausea
• Vomiting
• Fever
• Itchy skin
• Dark urine
