New Delhi: A 16-year-old girl named Khewjira Phanij from Thailand was born with a rare disease called epidermolysis bullosa (EB), an incurable skin condition.

The condition makes her skin to blister and tear at the slightest touch like a 'butterfly wing' which makes her fingers and toes fuse together.

The teenager is covered in open sores which attract insects such as flies and mosquitoes.

According to a report in Daily Mail, her family is being helped by a former Thai monk known as Bhin. And her parents are determined to ensure that their daughter is cured and lives a normal life.

As per the report, Bhin said that Phanij's family had been left exhausted by the cost of her medical treatment, which can only ease some of the teenagers pain.

Epidermolysis Bullosa affects one in every 50,000 children and there is no cure for it while treatment aims to prevent infection of blisters.
