Two persons died due to dengue here today, prompting family members to lodge a protest over allegations that authorities are not maintaining cleanliness which is causing breeding of mosquitoes.

Rajendra Kumar (32) died during his treatment at a hospital in Maldahiya, whereas Ashok Maurya (42) died while undergoing treatment at his home in Chhittupur locality, police said.
Enraged over their deaths, family members and localites on Wednesday blocked the Sigra-Cantt road near ABC tower crossing here, alleging that Varanasi Municipal Corporation is not carrying out proper cleanliness measures in their area, they said.
Police later reached the spot and cleared the road and sent the two bodies for postmortem.
