Melbourne: Daniel Radcliffe has asked parents to “think long and hard “ before taking their kids to watch his ‘scary’ new movie, ‘The Woman In Black’.
The actor stars in the film adaptation of the play ‘The Woman in Black’, which premiered in London this week, which is also his first film role since finishing the Harry Potter franchise.
He said that fans will be “genuinely scared” watching his new ‘horror’ film despite it getting the UK film rating 12A, meaning children under 12 can see the movie only if accompanied by an adult.
“It’s pretty scary,” News.com.au quoted Radcliffe as telling Sky News.
“I know it’s got a 12A rating, but I would think long and hard if you are thinking about taking a kid under 12 because it’s a very, very, genuinely frightening film. You will be scared,” he added.
Radcliffe has till now only portrayed the boy wizard on the big screen, bagging the part when he was just 10 years old.
Now aged 22, he said that it was “refreshing” to play a new role and was “thrilled” to step into the horror genre.
Radcliffe added that getting involved in the project was an “easy decision” as he was hooked after reading the script.
