Singapore : Jyoti Randhawa was among the seven Indian golfers who managed to complete their rounds, carding a two-under 69 before darkness led to suspension of play in the opening round of the USD six million Barclays Singapore here on Thursday.

Randhawa picked up three birdies and an eagle against three bogeys at the Tanjong Course to be tied for the 56th spot with 108 golfers yet to finish their rounds after four hours were lost due to a lightning storm.The European and Asian Tour co-sanctioned event is being played on two courses ? the Serapong and Tanjong on the first two rounds while the final two rounds will be played on the Serapong course. C Muniyappa was the highest-placed Indian at tied 37th after being three-under at the 12th hole of the Serapong Course. The Indian Open champion`s card -- studded with three birdies -- is blemish-free so far. SSP Chowrasia was two-under at the 11th hole, sharing the 56th position with Randhawa, Gaganjeet Bhullar, who was at the sixth hole, and Jeev Milkha Singh, stuck at the 10th hole. Ashok Kumar was tied 84th with a one-under 71 and sharing the position with him were Digvijay Singh, Rahil Gangjee and Anirban Lahiri who were yet to complete their rounds.The high-profile duo of Arjun Atwal and Shiv Kapur were even-par. While Atwal was at the eighth hole when play was suspended, Kapur had completed 11 in his round. Veteran Gaurav Ghei, meanwhile, returned a one-over 72 to lay in the bottom half of the leaderboard with the first-round positions yet to be decided. Kim Bi-o of Korea and Chris Wood of England fired matching eight-under 63s to open up a one stroke lead over Japanese Shigeki Maruyama at the Sentosa Golf Club. PTI
