Deceased man charged Rs 7 lakh for surgery dies, family vandalises hospital

In another incident, allegations of overcharging were levelled against a Gurugram-based hospital by the family of a 17-month-old baby, who died earlier this month.
The family of the infant had accused that the hospital - Artemis handed over a bill of Rs 46,000 for barely four hours of treatment, that too when they had lost their child.
Last month, Gurugram's Medanta hospital had charged nearly Rs 16 lakh for 21 days from the family of an eight-year-old boy, who was suffering from Dengue and later died.
In November last year, Gurugram's Fortis Memorial Research Institute had charged a whopping Rs 16 lakh for 15-days treatment of seven-year-old dengue patient, who later died while being shifted to a different hospital.
