Jyotiraditya Scindia replaces Hardeep Singh Puri as Civil Aviation minister

New Delhi: Jyotiraditya Scindia replaces Hardeep Singh Puri for the civil aviation portfolio. Jyotiraditya Scindia is a Rajya Sabha MP from Madhya Pradesh, serving as MP for the fifth time.

He has been Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Power and Union Minister of State for Commerce & Communications in earlier Governments. He comes from an illustrious royal lineage, he has been in public life for over 2 decades. He has also previously held the responsibility as President of Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association.

Scindia has an MBA from Stanford University and BA from Harvard University. 

He severed all ties with Congress in March 2020 and joined the BJP.

As many as 43 ministers took oath on Wednesday, in the rejigged cabinet 36 new ministers have been inducted while seven got promotions. Prominent BJP leaders like Narayan Rane, Sarbananda Sonowal, Ashwini Vaishnaw and Bhupendra Yadav were sworn in to office today.
