Nitish Kumar on Wednesday resigned as Bihar Chief Minister dumping the RJD and Congress to stitch a new alliance with BJP.

Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar resigned on Wednesday, dumping RJD over corruption charges against his deputy Tejashwi Yadav.
Citing irreconcilable differences with the senior ally over corruption charges against the son of Lalu Prasad Yadav, Kumar announced his resignation after meeting Governor Keshari Nath Tripathi, hours after the RJD supremo rejected outright the demand for his son's ouster.
Kumar's resignation capped days of stand-off between his party JD(U) and the RJD with the former insisting that Tejashwi defend himself against the allegations.
RJD, Congress and all those who oppose BJP-RSS and Nitish Kumar will protest, hold dharnas and burn effigies - Tejashwi.
If Nitish Kumar has the guts then he should go for fresh polls. I have just been used as a pawn by them for their political gains - Tejashwi.
We will fight and win, he adds.
On being asked as to what the Governor said, Tejashwi says - He told us that I have already asked the other side to form the government. We even cited the Bommai case.
But we still appeal to the Governor, he adds.

Tejashwi Yadav along with RJD delegation with meet Bihar Governor at 11 am on Thursday to stake claim for forming government.

Nitish Kumar, Sushil Modi and other BJP, JD(U) leaders leave for Raj Bhavan to meet Governor.
The BJP tonight handed over to Bihar Governor Keshari Nath Tripathi the letter extending support to Nitish Kumar for forming the next government.
State BJP chief Nityanand Rai and senior party leader Sushil Kumar Modi drove to Raj Bhavan late this evening and handed over the letter.
Modi said BJP would be a part of the new government.

Nitish knew very well that he will not be able to save himself in the murder case that's why he played the resignation drama - Lalu.

What honesty is Nitish talking about. In 1991 Nitish Kumar was charged under a murder case. Serious cases dating back to 2009 against Nitish Kumar too - Lalu.
