Amit Shah tells Ravi Shastri 'how karyakartas' singles helped BJP pile up 300+ in UP'; Twitterati goes gaga

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his close aide and BJP chief Amit Shah recently displayed their 'wit and humour' and their knowledge of cricketing language when they received a congratulatory tweet from former cricketer and Team India director Ravi Shastri on UP poll victory.

Shastri had on Thursday congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his party BJP's historic victory in the recently concluded assembly elections in UP to which he received a cheeky reply from the latter.

In his tweet to PM on Thursday, Shashtri had also used his famous phrase "Tracer Bullet" while complimenting the Modi-Shah combine as batsmen.

Responding to Shastri's tweet, PM Modi replied right back using cricketing language.

Interestingly BJP president Amit Shah was also not too far behind the PM in giving a humorous response to former cricketer's congratulatory tweet.

In his tweet to Shastri, Shah explained how BJP played as team and how its Karyakartas helped it win up 300+ seats in the 403-seat UP Asembly.

The use of cricketing metaphors by both PM modi and Shah thrilled hundreds of Twitter users who heaped praise on the BJP leaders for their ''wit and humour''.

Here are some of those responses.
