Kishanganj: A BSF jawan deployed on Indo-Bangladesh border near Kishanganj in Bihar allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself with his service revolver.
BSF officials identified the deceased jawan as Janaram, a native of Barmer in Rajasthan who had allegedly shot at himself while on patrol.
"Janaram was serving with the 21st battalion under sector headquarters at Kishanganj. He had joined here just two days ago and was deployed along the Indo-Bangla border," the officials said.
Janaram had marched ahead of his other colleagues. The jawan then fired five bullets from his service weapon. He was later found in pool of blood by his colleagues, the officials said.
