Ara: A naxalite absconding for years
was Friday arrested in Bihar`s Bhojpur district during an encounter.
Superintendent of Police (SP) M R Nayak said Brajesh
Paswan was arrested following a brief exchange of fire between
the police and ultras at Charpokhri Khurd village.
A country-made pistol and two rounds of cartridge were
found in the possession of Paswan, who was on the run ever
since he escaped from jail in 2003.
Paswan had been convicted and sentenced to life
imprisonment in a murder case.
Before being jailed he had also served as the `mukhiya`
of Charpokhri panchayat.
