An anonymous call threatening to blow up the busy Anand Vihar metro station triggered panic on Thursday, but it turned out to be a hoax.

New Delhi: An anonymous call threatening to
blow up the busy Anand Vihar metro station triggered panic
on Thursday, but it turned out to be a hoax.
Police received a call at around 1:30 pm claiming that
explosives were placed in the facility, following which dog
squads and bomb disposal teams were rushed to the spot.

CISF sources said that after they received information in
this regard from police, all precautionary measures were
taken.

"All precautionary measures were taken. Dog squads and
bomb disposal teams were rushed to the spot and the entire
station was checked," CISF officials said.
However, Metro services at the station remained normal
during the searches and unhindered exit of the passengers was
ensured. Metro services on all corridors ran normally as per
schedule.
