Delhi Police confirms arrest of five in madrasa youth assault case

The Delhi Police on Wednesday confirmed the arrest of five persons who were allegedly involved in the assault of three Madrasa youth at a park in the city`s Begampur area.

New Delhi: The Delhi Police on Wednesday confirmed the arrest of five persons who were allegedly involved in the assault of three Madrasa youth at a park in the city`s Begampur area.

Police said that the arrests had been effected under Sections 323, 325, 506, 341, 34 and 36 of the Indian Penal Code.

 

Three Muslim youth - Dilkash, Mohammad Ajmal and Naeem - were allegedly beaten up as they refused to chant pro-religious and national slogans such as `Jai Mata Ki` and `Bharat Mata Ki Jai`.

The victims called up their teacher Hafiz, who then called up the police.

They were rushed to the Sanjay Gandhi Hospital for immediate treatment.
