Neelam, a doctor at the Hindu Rao Hospital, told Additional Sessions Judge Kaveri Baweja that she found various scratch marks on the woman`s body and swelling in her lips. All the injuries were fresh in nature.

Quizzed by the defence counsel of driver Shiv Kumar Yadav about her opinion on the scratch marks, she said: "Considering the observation made by me in the MLC (Medico legal case), I can say that that the victim was raped."

Neelam was testifying as a prosecution witness.

The court also recorded the statement of a nodal officer of Airtel in the case.

The court will Thursday record the statements of four prosecution witnesses - an expert from the Forensic Science Laboratory, a doctor and two police officials.
