Bowie – The rescued koala with a rare condition, yet beautiful! (See pic)

New Delhi: Recently, a koala who was rescued from a road has stolen hearts of the folks at the Australia Zoo Wildlife Hospital with her beautiful different coloured eyes.

Usually koalas have brown eyes, but this one has a rare condition known as heterochromia, which is a rare gene she inherited from her parents, making her to have two different coloured eyes - one blue and one brown eye similar to those of David Bowie's eyes.

Hence, they named her 'Bowie'. The creature was found on the side of the road in Brendale, Queensland after being hit by a passing car.

However, Bowie had luckily escaped any serious injuries apart from some reduced pigmentation in her right eye, and had perfect vision, confirmed Dr Sharon.
