Jaipur: Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday stressed the need for cow protection and asked people to take action against cow-slaughter.
"There is a need for all to come together and work for protection of cows and take action against cow slaughter," Modi said while addressing a gathering in Nand Gaon, 40 kms from Sirohi district.
He also highlighted his government`s initiatives for cow protection in Gujarat.
A total ban on cow-slaughter besides transportation and selling of beef was imposed in Gujarat in October after the state government took the issue to the Supreme Court and enacted a law for the protection of cows.
