7th pay commission: Good news for single fathers!

New Delhi: This certainly is good news for all single fathers, who are working in the government sector as they soon may get to avail child care leave (CCL).

According to Hindustan Times report, the seventh pay commission recommended on Thursday that single male parent should also be allowed to avail CCL.

Single mothers may also get benefit from it as the panel has recommended that such employees will be allowed to take CCL in six spells in a calendar year instead of the prevailing three spells, as reported.

Further reports suggest that the panel has rejected the demand to increase leave for both the maternity and paternity granted to government employees.

While women would continue to get leave of up to 180 days for pregnancy, male employee with fewer than two children would be granted a leave of 15 days or up to 15 days before or six months from the date of delivery of the child.
