Madge buys $40m Georgian house in NYC

New York, April 14: Queen of Pop Madonna is reportedly moving to Upper East Side.The 50-year-old has bought a four-story, Georgian-style townhouse on East 81st Street for about 40 million dollars, according to sources.

"The townhouse is perfect for Madonna. She``s trying to recreate London in New York City, and this is in the style of a London townhouse," the New York Post quoted a source as saying. One broker who asked not to be identified said that no residence in that area “has ever sold for 20 million dollars, let alone 30 million dollars - or ever will again.” Sources said that the ‘Material Girl’ hitmaker will also find the house has bad vibes -- specifically from the Lexington Avenue subway. According to one visitor, people inside the 26-room mansion can hear and feel the trains coming through. The mansion has a two-car garage, a 3,000-square- foot garden, nine fireplaces, an elevator, a wine cellar with a grotto, 13 bedrooms and 14 bathrooms. However, it`s not yet in move-in condition. Madonna has plans for extensive renovations, along with major security upgrades. ANI
