Preview: What would be BO response to ‘Hello’ – hi or bye?

After the two Bollywood biggies, Imran Khan and Abhishek Bachchan failed to live it up at the BO, delivering their respective super-duds ‘Kidnap’ and ‘Drona’ (that was indeed the Rona), Bollywood is desperately looking for a hit. But with ‘Hello’, the cinematic adaptation of ‘One Night @ the Call Centre’ by the country’s most celebrated author Chetan Bhagat, hitting the screens today, it seems silver screen may just get it’s lost sheen back.

Mumbai, Oct 10: After the two Bollywood biggies, Imran Khan and Abhishek Bachchan failed to live it up at the BO, delivering their respective super-duds ‘Kidnap’ and ‘Drona’ (that was indeed the Rona), Bollywood is desperately looking for a hit. But with ‘Hello’, the cinematic adaptation of ‘One Night @ the Call Centre’ by the country’s most celebrated author Chetan Bhagat, hitting the screens today, it seems silver screen may just get it’s lost sheen back.Directed by Salman Khan’ s low-profiled brother-in-law Atul Agnihotri, the film is based on one of the most popular books of the Gen X. And like the title of the fiction novel suggests ‘One Night @ the Call Centre’, ‘Hello’ is a tale about the events that happen in the lives of 6 call centre employees during one night at work.
The night that begins just like any other turns into one of the most memorable nights of their lives. With a series of interesting happening and a phone call from God, the happening during the night changes the lives of theses individuals forever. The story begins with the author Chetan (played by Salman Khan) bumping into an angel (the super gorgeous beauty Katrina Kaif), who promises the weary author an interesting tale provided he turns it into a book. She narrates the story of six bumped up youth who are on the verge of giving up on their dreams. Told through the eyes of the protagonist Shyam, ‘Hello’ is the story of love lost, incompetent seniors, thwarted ambition, failed marriage, absence of family affection, pressure of a patriarchal set up and the work environment of a globalised office. Here’s hoping that the cinematic adaptation of the book, that turned into a bestseller, rules the heart of movie-goers also.
