Disqualification issue: Is Arvind Kejriwal lying? '21 AAP MLAs got government cars, office rooms'

New Delhi: Is Delhi CM and AAP convenor Arvind Kejriwal lying that his 21 MLAs did not avail any facility as Parliamentary Secretary?

The 21 AAP MLAs were given cars and office rooms, according to Delhi Congress chief Ajay Maken.

Also, Ajay Maken claimed that the 21 AAP MLAs were not only enjoying benefits of the Parliamentary Secretary post but were also influencing the decisions.

"The 21 Parliamentary secretaries were given government vehicles and office rooms in violation of norms and rules. These MLAs were not only doing administrative works in the ministers' offices, but they were also influencing the decisions," Ajay Maken alleged.

Ajay Maken has cited these things when a Congress delegation met the Chief Election Commissioner on June 9 and asked him to recommend to the President "immediate disqualification" of 21 AAP MLAs holding "office of profit" by working as Parliamentary secretaries to the state government ministers.

Fate of 21 AAP MLAs

The Delhi government Bill to exclude the post of Parliamentary Secretary from the office of profit has been refused assent by the President Pranab Mukherjee on Monday, raising questions over the fate of 21 AAP MLAs, who have been appointed to the posts.

The refusal puts a question mark over the membership of 21 Aam Aadmi Party MLAs, who have been appointed Parliamentary Secretaries by the Arvind Kejriwal government.
