New Delhi: Emphasizing that the civil poll results in Maharashtra post demonetisation was a slap on the opposition`s face, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday rubbished West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee`s assertion that the nation would punish the Narendra Modi Government in the next Lok Sabha elections.
"Maharashtra is the greatest answer to that. We secured second position in Cooch Behar. We got vote in Bengal as well. She will get her reply. She is roaming around in India to gain importance. As a woman, she cannot control child trafficking in West Bengal," BJP MP Rupa Ganguly told ANI.
Mamata on Tuesday dubbed the demonetisation of high-value currency notes as `black emergency` and said that the nation will very soon show the exit door to Prime Minister Modi, who is making all attempts to end the federal structure with his stubborn approach.
Banerjee, who was speaking in Lucknow, rubbished the BJP-led NDA regime`s assertion that this step was aimed at ending the menace of black money.
Both the Houses of Parliament have been adjourned for the day following uproar on the issues of demonetisation and Nagrota terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir.

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ananth Kumar said that the government wants a discussion on the issue without voting and send a message that the House is united to address the issue of black money.
Not satisfied, members of Congress, TMC, Left and others trooped into the well, raising slogans.
Earlier, when the House met for the day, opposition led by Congress demanded an obituary reference to the jawans martyred in the Nagrota terror attack.
The Speaker said that the combing operation is still continuing and the government is gathering the details about the incident.
Expressing dissatisfaction, the opposition staged a brief walkout from the House.

Earlier, when the House met for the day, Leader of Opposition Ghulam Nabi Azad demanded that the House should make an obituary reference to those martyred in the border areas and those people who reportedly died because of trauma while standing long queues for money withdrawals before banks and ATMs.
Leader of the House, Arun Jaitley told the agitating members that the discussion on demonetisation is going on and the government is ready for a discussion on the issue at the border.
Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati alleged that the government is not concerned about the prevailing situation in the country because of demonetisation.
