J&K Congress expels rebel candidate Shahid Ali Kachroo

Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) Tuesday expelled a party rebel who has filed his nomination as an independent candidate from Zadibal Assembly constituency of Srinagar.

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) Tuesday expelled a party rebel who has filed his nomination as an independent candidate from Zadibal Assembly constituency of Srinagar.

"I expel Congress party worker from Zadibal Shahid Ali Kachroo, who is contesting election from the constituency as an independent candidate, with immediate effect," JKPCC president Saif-ud-Din Soz said in a statement here.

Soz asked the electorate to vote for the party candidate Shameema Raina.

The JKPCC president also asked the voters of Sonawar seat to whole heartedly support the party candidate Khem Lata Wakhloo.

"I have taken notice of the fact that one Peer Bilal Ahmad, who is contesting the polls as Independent candidate from Sonawar Assembly constituency has been making statement in his campaign that some Congress party leaders are behind him and are also helping him financially.

"He is also making statements that once he wins the election he would straightway join Congress party," Soz said adding "I want to make the position clear that Wakhloo, one of the senior leader of the JKPCC, is the party candidate from the constituency," Soz said.
