JKNPP to hold rally against BJP-PDP govt on July 4

Attacking the BJP-PDP coalition government for its "malgovernance", Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party (JKNPP) on Thursday said it will take out a protest rally on July 4 here.

Jammu: Attacking the BJP-PDP coalition government for its "malgovernance", Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party (JKNPP) on Thursday said it will take out a protest rally on July 4 here.

"We will be taking out a massive and historic rally endorsing the mission of 'Fight for Jammu' on July 4 against gross failure and malgovernance in BJP-PDP coalition government," JKNPP president Balwant Singh Mankotia told reporters here.

JKNPP Chairman Harsh Dev Singh will lead the rally along with other leaders and thousands of activists from Panjtirthi Chowk in Jammu city.

"The rally will pass through various markets and lanes of the heritage Jammu city and culminate at the press club here," he said.

The objective of the rally would be to mobilize public opinion on "cowardly surrenders" of BJP before Kashmiri leaders for power and discriminating against Jammu Province, Mankotia said.

Another motive is to seek mass support for taking the mission forward to its logical conclusion, he said.

Rebuking the ruling BJP-PDP alliance for gross failures on all fronts and indulging in worst 'political debauchery', Mankotia admonished BJP for inflicting a huge dent on Dogra's pride by cowardly surrendering before its coalition partner.

He also criticized the government on their failure to fulfill its pre-poll slogans made to the people of Jammu ahead of Assembly elections.

"People of Jammu who were expecting something fierce and volcanic from the saffron party were utterly disillusioned with the ice cold BJP leadership, which succumbed to PDP for mere political gains," Mankotia said, adding "that they disparaged, maligned and treacherously betrayed the mandate and aspirations of the people".

JKNPP State President also charged BJP of discrimination doled out to Jammu region immediately after the formation of the J&K government when it tried to appease PDP and conceded AIIMS to Kashmir that was actually sanctioned for Jammu region in the Union budget session on 28 Feb 2015 by Union Finance Minister Arun.
