Bengaluru: Amid chaos among people to deposit or exchange their spiked currency or take out cash following demonetisation of the high-value currency note, some BJP leaders are likely to skip the wedding of mining baron and former BJP minister G Janardhana Reddy's daughter in Bengaluru on Wednesday.
The Times of India has quoted a senior leader as saying: "The party has not issued a formal order but the party has said it's better to stay away from the big fat wedding in these times.”
The daily quoted another leader as saying that some key leaders, including BJP state president BS Yeddyurappa, are, however, likely to attend the event.
Meanwhile, the Income Tax department is keeping an eye on the source of funds following reports that the event to be held at the Palace Grounds in Bengaluru will cost over Rs 100 crore.

Notably, Gali Janardhan Reddy's fancy and expensive invitation for his daughter's wedding had gone viral last month.
Reddy had sent out boxes as wedding invites with an LCD screen on the inside of the lid. Once the box is opened, a music video is auto-played about his daughter's upcoming wedding.
The music video comprises a Kannada song composed and picturised exclusively for the purpose, featuring Janardhan, his wife, his daughter and bride, Brahmani, and groom Rajeev Reddy.
