Clerk caught taking Rs 10,000 bribe in Ujjain

A 37-year-old clerk of Ujjain Development Authority (UDA) was on Saturday caught red-handed taking a bribe of Rs 10,000 from a person by Lokayukta police, an official of state's anti-graft agency said.

Ujjain: A 37-year-old clerk of Ujjain Development Authority (UDA) was on Saturday caught red-handed taking a bribe of Rs 10,000 from a person by Lokayukta police, an official of state's anti-graft agency said.

Vijay Jain was caught red-handed taking Rs 10,000 from Dharmendra Bhati at his office in UDA. The accused demanded the bribe from Bhati to rent him out an office space in UDA, Lokayukta Inspector Basant Shrivastava told PTI.

Ujjain Lokayukta Superintendent of Police (SP) Sidharth Choudhary said the accused has been booked under the relevant sections of Prevention of Corruption Act and further investigations are on.
