Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Monday said instead of Shivaji Nagar, Tantya Tope (TT) Nagar will now be developed under the Smart City Project in Bhopal.

"During the review meeting today conducted on the Smart City project in Bhopal, it was decided that instead of Shivaji Nagar, now TT Nagar will be developed under the Smart City Project in Bhopal," Chouhan told ANI.

He said this decision was taken keeping in mind the greenery and population in Shivaji Nagar which should be maintained.

"We believe that its importance, its greenery should be maintained," he added.

Chouhan further said he had issued directions to start the work.

The decision comes a day after the residents of Shivaji Nagar had protested against developing Smart City in Shivaji Nagar and Tulsi Nagar.

The residents had assembled at Pt Ravishankar Shukla Market of the city on Saturday and wrote inland letters, under 'Modi Se Mann Ki Baat', protesting against developing Smart City in Shivaji Nagar and Tulsi Nagar.
