Former Aurangabad Mayor arrested in extortion case

Aurangabad: A former city Mayor was today
arrested in a case of alleged extortion, police sources said.

Ashok Sayanna Yadav was declared absconding since last
year.

According to the sources, Yadav and his accomplices
had battered a toll contractor after he refused to pay Rs
50,000. The police had registered a case against Yadav and
other accused.

Rest of the accused were arrested but Yadav, the prime
suspect, was at large since then.
