New Delhi: Even though in recent promotional campaign, Akshay Kumar had said that he doesn`t care about Box Office collections, his fans have decided to not back down.
Akshay has emerged as one of the driving forces of Bollywood in the last two decades. His mass entertainment action flicks have done rather well and his fan following has only grown in the recent times. The action superstar with ‘Boss’, his latest offering on the silvercreen, has now reportedly grossed over 14.5 Crores on its first day. Despite critics slamming the movie, Akki enthusiasts have flocked to the cinemas for the Eid release this Wednesday. The story is the same even overseas. ‘Boss’ has done exceptionally well in UAE and UK, where Akshay has a huge fan following. The opening day collections have broken the personal record for the `Khiladi` star, beating even ‘Rowdy Rathore’ which released last year. With figures sky rocketing, it is also one of the top five first day hits in the 2013, standing tall with ‘Chennai Express’ and ‘Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani’. It seems that the promotional campaign has done its trick and trade analysts are predicting that the feature will do quite well even on the weekend. Directed by Anthony D’Souza, ‘Boss’ that also stars Mithun Chakraborty and Aditi Rao Hydari was released across 3,000 screens in the country. Akshay thanked his fans by hosting a special screening for them, and also entertaining them by singing a few songs. If Akshay ‘Khiladi’ Kumar works so hard to keep his supporters and lovers entertained, no wonder the man is getting to break records! Whether it be biggest posters, or record first day collections.
