Chair in Gangubai Hanagal`s name in Karnatak University

Hubli, Nov 05: For the first time in Karnataka, a Chair has been established in the name of renowned Hindustani vocalist Gangubai Hanagal in Karnatak University by the state government.Dr Gangubai Hanagal-Chair has been set up to study the Padmavibhushan awardee`s "musical journey in the last 96 years of her life", Dr S K Saidapur, Vice-Chancellor of the university said inaugurating the Chair here today.

The Chair consists of her collections of audios, videos and all programmes rendered by her in India and abroad. Bureau Report
