HPCC serves show cause notice to Sultan Singh

Sonepat, Nov 11: Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee has served a show-cause notice to former Tripura governor and veteran Congress leader Sultan Singh asking him to explain within a week why disciplinary action should not be initiated against him for indulging in "anti-party activities".

has served a show-cause notice to former Tripura governor and veteran Congress leader Sultan Singh asking him to explain within a week why disciplinary action should not be initiated against him for indulging in "anti-party activities".

HPCC president Bhajan Lal told reporters at Chhatehra
Bahadurpur village here yesterday that the HPCC would
"consider" Singh's reply after receiving it and "if sultan
Singh fails to send his reply within the stipulated period,
the HPCC will take appropriate action against him".

Sultan Singh has been made president of Devi Lal Memorial
committee by Chief Minister Om Parkash Chautala and provided an official vehicle.

Referring to "attempts for dislodging Chautala from power", Bhajan Lal said that "there is no need of any agenda
on this issue and "if any opportunity is available, the party
will go ahead with dislodging Chautala from power".
