India, Myanmar to cooperate in combating terrorism

New Delhi, Nov 26: Condemning terrorism in all its forms, India and Myanmar today agreed to enhance their cooperation to combat terrorist activities inimical to their security.

New Delhi, Nov 26: Condemning terrorism in all its forms, India and Myanmar today agreed to enhance their cooperation to combat terrorist activities inimical to their security.

This was decided during foreign office consultation between the two sides in Yangon. The Indian side was led by Foreign Secretary Kanwal Sibal and the Myanmarese by Deputy Foreign Minister U khin Maung Win.

Sibal also called on General Khin Nyunt, Secretary of the State Peace and Development Council and Foreign Minister U Win Aung.

The two sides held an indepth review of bilateral relations and expressed satisfaction at their development. It was noted that bilateral ties had become truly multifaceted in nature and substantive in content.

They stressed the importance of consolidation and further expansion of ties between the two countries.

The two sides exchanged views on regional and international issues of mutual interest.
