New Delhi: Maoists in India are "abusing"
the name of legendary Chinese Communist leader Mao Tse Tung
and have nothing to do with his thoughts, the CPI(M) said
alleged on Saturday.

"The Maoists have nothing to do with Chairman Mao or
his thoughts. Actually, they are abusing his name," CPI(M)
leader Sitaram Yechury said at a press conference here.

Replying to questions on the ongoing global communists
meet here, he said the Maoists in India did not tolerate any
other view, especially those of the Marxist party, "whereas
Mao had said `let a hundred flowers bloom, let a hundred
thoughts contend`".

When a reporter told him that Mao had also said "power
flows out of the barrel of a gun", the Marxist leader
immediately asked him "do you know the entire sentence"?

"Mao had said when you are facing the gun, remember,
power flows out of the barrel of a gun. Otherwise, mobilise
the people and launch popular struggles," Yechury added.
