PM flags off five new trains from Lucknow

Lucknow, Dec 24:Presenting a gift to the people of
his constituency on the eve of his birthday, Prime Minister
Atal Bihari Vajpayee today flagged off five new trains from
here.

Arriving three hours late on his day-long visit here, the
Prime Minister drove straight from the airport to the Charbagh
railway stadium (RPT stadium) where an impressive function was
organised.

The news trains are Jan Shatabdi Express between Lucknow
and Allahabad, Lucknow-Mumbai Express, Lucknow-Agra-Mathura
express, Lucknow-Gorakhpur inter city and Lucknow-Varanasi
Express.

Railway minister Nitesh Kumar, Union Agriculture minister
Rajnath Singh and ministers of state for railways A K Moorthy
and B R Patil were among those present at the function.
