Proceedings in 26/11 trial to resume today

Proceedings in the 26/11 terror attack case which were adjourned Monday after the prosecution sought time for a witness are slated to begin Tuesday.

Mumbai: Proceedings in 26/11 terror attack case which were adjourned yesterday after the prosecution sought time for a witness, who is owner of a Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) provider company, to enable him bring records, will begin today.
Special public prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam had sought adjournment yesterday
in the deposition of the witness till Tuesday so that he could carry his company records.

According to the prosecution, the 26/11 conspirators had
opened accounts with his New Jersey-based company Callphonex.

"Calls made between the 26/11 gunmen and their Pakistan-
based controllers during the attack were routed through this
VoIP account," Nikam said.

The witness, who began his deposition today via video
link from Canada, told the prosecutor that he had not carried
his company records with him.

He had asked the witness to state Callphonex`s phone
number that would flash if one customer calls the other during
November 2008.

"I cannot recall the number as our company has changed
the number now and are not using the same anymore. But I can
get it from the company records within 24 hours," the witness
told the court.

Following this the witness`s deposition was adjourned
till today.
