Security blanket ahead of Narendra Modi`s Kanpur rally

Lucknow: Elaborate security arrangements have been made for the scheduled rally of BJP`s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi in Kanpur on October 19.

"Seven SP rank officials, eight ASPs, 15 Dysps, 40 inspectors, 700 constables, 100 lady constables and anti-sabotage team among others have been provided for the rally in Kanpur," IG law and order R K Vishkarma told reporters here today. All necessary precautions are being taken in view of the rally at Kalyanpur in Kanpur, he said. Meanwhile, BJP state unit chief Laxmikant Bajpai said party president Rajnath Singh would also address the rally. The BJP leader said they expected a massive turnout in the rally, which would formally kick off the party`s campaign for the 2014 Lok Sabha elections. The BJP leader said security personnel from Gujarat have also arrived in Kanpur for the security of Modi.
