Tohra hospitalised following heart attack

Patiala, May 27: Sarb Hind Shiromani Akali Dal chief Gurcharan Singh Tohra suffered a heart attack late last evening and has been admitted to hospital where his condition
was stated to be critical.

Tohra, who was brought in an unconscious condition to the
hospital was on life support systems in the intensive care
unit, hospital sources said.

He suffered the heart attack within hours of being called to the Akal Takht secretariat by the five high priests for "discussions" following a letter from Shiromani Akali Dal president Parkash Singh Badal that he was ready to appear if he has committed any mistake.

Badal had been called for discussions at 11 am on June 5 while Tohra had been summoned an hour later on the same date.
