Vice Admiral Raman Puri appointed C-in-C, Eastern Naval command

Vice Admiral Raman Puri has been appointed as flag officer Commanding-in-Chief of the eastern naval command at Visakhapatnam, the defence ministry announced.

Vice Admiral Raman Puri has been appointed as flag officer Commanding-in-Chief of the eastern naval command at Visakhapatnam, the defence ministry announced.
His position as deputy chief of naval staff will be filled by Vice Admiral S V Gopalachari who is presently assistant chief of naval staff (policy and plans).

Adm Puri, a founder director of the college of naval warfare, commanded the aircraft carrier INS Vikrant, besides a missile destroyer and a corvette. Adm Gopalachari is an anti-submarine
warfare specialist.
