San Francisco: Finally, Microsoft is doing away with its old browser - Internet Explorer. The company on Wednesday unveiled its next generation web browser called “Microsoft Edge” at its Build conference in San Francisco.

The company said though Microsoft Edge will replace Internet Explorer as the default browser, IE will be sticking around for enterprise customers.

The new browser, which will be launched with Windows 10 this summer, has features such as Cortana integration, the ability to annotate web pages, and a distraction-free reading mode.

The company first unveiled the browser name in January under the codename 'Project Spartan'.

With the launch of its new browser this summer, Microsoft is hoping to have one billion devices running on Windows 10 in two to three years.

The new operating system Windows 10 will be available as a free upgrade for existing Windows users and it also has a renewed focus on gaming.
