Union Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal wants files related to the attack on Sri Darbar Sahib during the Operation Blue Star to be made public.

Bathinda: Union Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal wants files related to the attack on Sri Darbar Sahib during the Operation Blue Star to be made public.

The Food Processing minister said on Sunday that the files related to the events and direction issued which led to tanks and cannons being used in precincts of the Sikh holy place be made public so that people know the truth behind this episode.

She said the "roles of Congress leaders Jagdish Tytler and Sajjan Kumar be re-investigated" in the entire episode on the basis of "facts that were concealed".

The minister was speaking after distributing grants to panchayats during sangat darshan programme at Buladhewala and Burj Mehma villages.

The operation in which the Indian Army took part was ordered by the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in order to remove Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale and his armed followers from the Golden Temple in Amritsar city.

Five months after the Operation Bluestar, Indira Gandhi was assassinated by her own Sikh bodyguards which led to anti-Sikh riots in the country.
