Michelle Ryan, Ashley Jensen in race for Jade Goody`s role

London, March 28: Actress Michelle Ryan and `Ugly Betty` star Ashley Jensen are being considered to play reality TV star Jade Goody in a new film."Nothing has been decided yet. But already a number of names have been put forward, including Ashley Jensen and Michelle Ryan. Both actresses are thought to be able to capture the humour and fun-loving nature of Jade," a source was quoted as saying in a news daily.

Goody died last Sunday after a very public battle with cervical cancer. The trustees of the 27-year-old star`s estate reportedly want to turn Goody`s second autobiography, `Catch A Falling Star,` into a film. "Those involved with the project are also keen to have an all-British cast, with Danny Dyer, 31, among the actors lined up to play Jade`s husband Jack Tweed," the source added. Former `EastEnders` stars, Robert Kazinsky, 25, and Sean Maguire, 32 are also being considered to play Jack Tweed`s character. "Yes, various names have contacted me about this. But all decisions will be made in due time," a spokesman for Goody said. Trustee Danny Hayward said that the film on star`s life is an effort to raise awareness for cervical cancer. "Her story lends itself to a biographical film. She has captured the mood of the nation. We want to tap into raising awareness of cervical cancer," he said. Bureau Report
