Faced with the problem of growing corruption, the Pervez Musharraf regime has identified over 12,000 government servants as corrupt or inefficient so that they are weeded out of bureaucracy.
Pakistani media reports say that a massive exercise is currently on to identify and weed out the corrupt elements from within the civil bureaucracy, but the military regime has not initiated even a single case against any official serving in the two top offices or the divisions of Information Technology and telecommunication.`
'The News' said that the corrupt bureaucrats have been identified from divisions like defence, railways and communications which have initiated action against over 4600, 3100 and 3000 officials respectively.
