Chennai: Tamil Nadu Congress Committee on Sunday
issued a showcause notice to party MLA S Jayapal for indulging
in "anti-party activities".
Jayapal has indulged in anti-party activities by
deliberately disregarding party rules and disobeying party`s
direction during Youth Congress elections in Kanyakumari
district, TNCC president K V Thangkabalu said.
Stating that this was "prima facie breach of
discipline", he asked Jayapal, representing Colachel
constituency in Kanyakumari district, to explain immediately
why disciplinary action should not be taken against him.
A copy of the showcause notice was circulated to the
media.
