Atrocities against minorities, dalits on rise: CPI

The Communist Party of India (CPI) today alleged that there has been a spurt in atrocities against minorities and dalits in the country.

Puducherry: The Communist Party of India (CPI) today alleged that there has been a spurt in atrocities against minorities and dalits in the country.

Addressing reporters here, CPI National Council Secretary Shameem Faizee charged the BJP-led NDA government at the Centre with "falling in line" with the RSS ideologies and expressed concern over the alleged rise in atrocities against dalits and minorities across the country.

He said the national executive of the party had at its meeting held in Delhi on October 15 and 16, decided to observe December 6 as a 'Day Against Communalism and Casteism' across the country.
Secretary CPI (Puducherry unit) R Viswanathan was also present.
