Muzaffarnagar: A 25-year-old youth, who had married a girl against the wishes of her family two months ago, was shot at allegedly by his father in-law in Kairana town of Shamli district, police said today.
The incident occurred on Sunday when Sherdin along with his two brothers entered the house of the victim and opened fire at him, police said.
Sanewar had married Sherdin's daughter Shama Parveen against his will two months ago, and the couple was living in the same locality as him, they said.
A case has been registered against four people, including Sherdin and his two brothers Saleem and Mursaleem, police said.
Sherdin has been arrested, while his brothers are absconding, they added.
