Lucknow: A day after his father Mulayam Singh Yadav expressed dissatisfaction with his government, Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav said he will work towards making the Samajwadi Party chief happy.

“Netaji is our leader. If we have committed mistakes then his anger is justified,” Akhilesh said, adding “we will work to make him happy, very soon”.

Mulayam had reportedly made his displeasure clear at a meeting of party MLAs at the Chief Minister’s residence on Tuesday evening.

“There is something lacking. I had given six months for the desired results... Four months have passed... the message that should have reached the masses is missing,” a leading daily quoted Mulayam as telling the MLAs.

While the SP chief did not point towards any single MLA or minister, he is believed to be upset with the government’s performance.

“Only a few are doing their job well. I am dissatisfied with most. They should improve their style of functioning,” Mulayam said.

The SP chief also made his anger clear over ministers and MLAs not giving importance to party workers.

Further, he advised ministers not to make public their differences.

“It’s embarrassing... avoid doing so in public,” he is believed to have told the legislators. “Your conduct will reflect on the government’s image,” he added.

Asking the MLAs to prepare themselves for future challenges, Mulayam said the real test for the party will be the 2014 General Elections.
