Kanpur: Two-year old Khushi, who had fell into a deep borewell in Nawabganj area of Kanpur district in Uttar Pradesh, met with a tragic end on Sunday as she died on her way to a hospital after a grueling rescue effort by the army and the local administration.
Khushi had accidentally slipped into a 25-feet borewell on Sunday morning as she was coming towards her mother.
A massive rescue operation was quickly mounted with the help of the army and local administration to pull her out. The area MLA had also rushed to the spot to coordinate rescue efforts.
But as fate would have it, the young girl met a tragic end despite a grueling rescue effort which saw the army and the local administration mobilsing all resources for her safety.
Doctor GN Dwiwedi who attended the victim said the exact cause of her death would only be ascertained after post-mortem. She was declared brought dead by the medics, ANI reported.
