UP govt withdraws cases against Union Minister Ram Shankar Katheria

The withdrawn cases include a protest in which Katheria led a mob to block National Highway-2 on February 7, 2010 during a protest in Agra.

Lucknow: The Samajwadi Party (SP)-led Uttar Pradesh Government has withdrawn five criminal cases pending against Minister of State for Human Resource Development Ram Shankar Katheria.

The Akhilesh Yadav Government ordered the withdrawal of five cases pending at three different police stations of Agra, lodged separately during 2010-2011. According to government records, the cases were withdrawn in public interest.

The withdrawn cases include a protest in which Katheria led a mob to block National Highway-2 on February 7, 2010 during a protest in Agra in which he was accused of rioting, wrongful confinement and causing hurt.
