Lucknow: Intense cold prevailing in Uttar
Pradesh claimed 10 more lives in the past 24 hours, officials
said on Thursday.
Five people fell prey to the extreme weather in Jaunpur,
four in Maharajganj and one in Lalitpur, they said.
The weather office said night temperatures fell in
Gorakhpur and was appreciably below normal in Agra, Jhansi and
Gorakhpur divisions.
The lowest temperature in the state of 3.2 deg C was
recorded at Najibabad and Banda, it said, adding cold wave
conditions would prevail at isolated pockets during next 24
hours.
Ground frost was also likely at some places in west UP
during the next two days, it added.
