Dehradun: As nature's fury continues in Uttarakhand where all major rivers are said to be flowing above the danger mark, a stunning picture of locals taking a huge risk while crossing a swollen river in the hill state is bound to send shivers down your spine.
The images posted by news agency ANI show local residents risking their lives while crossing a raging river stream on a makeshift bridge in Uttarkashi.
A heavy to very heavy rain alert for Uttarakhand has already been sounded by the Meteorological department.
Heavy rains in the past few days have lashed most parts of Uttarakhand throughout throwing daily life out of gear.
Rains triggered recurring landslides which blocked National Highways leading to Badrinath and Kedarnath shrines
The rains also led to a rise in the water level of major rivers in Uttarakhand including Ganga at Haridwar, sparking fear of floods in the low-lying areas of the state.
